KUCHING: The Sarawak C squad hope of qualifying into the Youth Cup quarter-finals of the Youth Cup dashed as they lost 1-2 to Terengganu in an away match recently.
The squad’s only need a draw to qualify for the quarter-finals.
“It’s a bit of a disappointment with the defeat that closed our way to the quarter-finals,” coach Safri Amit lamented.
“In our case, we have the chance with the advantage of having an earlier goal compared to Terengganu,” said team manager Abang Suhordie Abang Zaini.
He believed the players have been working hard towards it but fate did not favour them.
According to Suhordie, the players had three to four chances to score but the attempts went off target.
The defeat saw Sarawak C finished in fifth place, after collecting 28 points from seven wins, seven draws and four defeats from 18 games.
