Sarawak has “big hopes” for Budget 2023, says Abang Johari

KUCHING: Sarawak is hoping to hear good news from the announcement of the 2023 National Budget.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the state looks forward to the parcel of the allocation of Budget being allocated to Sarawak.

“We hope to receive some assistance from the federal government to be given to Sarawak.

“Indeed, our hope is ‘cukup besar’ (good enough),” he said.

He said this when asked by reporters about Sarawak’s expectations on the 2023 National Budget after the officiating at the proclamation ceremony of Sarawak Delta as a National Geopark at Dewan Lagenda, Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) today.

Earlier, it was reported that the National Budget 2023 is scheduled to be tabled on Oct 28, but it has been brought forward to Oct 7.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob also said that Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz will be tabling the National Budget.
