BETONG: Sarawak needed more role models in the future in order to move forward towards a new economic model, said Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu.

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), the Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Development stated that the new field, which consists of digital economy, hydrogen economy, carbon economy and others needed tons of great role models to spur it.

He added that parents and educators need to prepare the children to grab the opportunities that are there for them.

“We should prepare our children towards this direction, so that they will take opportunities in the future and dominate them.

“So that Sarawak becomes a developed state, thanks to our own role model. If not, outsiders will take it,” he said recently.

The Layar assemblyman stated the state government has implemented the Sovereign Fund that will give benefits to the children for economic purposes.
