KUCHING: The Sarawak Scout Academy recently produced its first King Scouts since its establishment in 2014.

According to the Sarawak Scout Chief Commissioner, Sudaryo Osman, Scouts have been in Sarawak for more than 100 years, but only a few could achieve the honour to be King Scouts.

This is due to no clear pathway for Scouts to achieve the honour and many Scoutmasters are uncertain of the procedures.

With the establishment of the Sarawak Scout Academy, the door is open for Scouts to pursue their dreams of becoming King Scouts through well-planned programmes and efficient management, where Scout members can be rest assured that their scout documentations are kept safe and submitted to Scout headquarters in Kuala Lumpur for processing.

Last week, 17 King Scouts candidates passed the King Scout stringent examinations which were conducted by two qualified King Scout examiners, Alexander Adrian from Serian, Sabeli Bakri, Norman Suhaili from Kuching and Ong Sing Chai from Sibu.
