KAPIT: A portable container system (PCS) fuel station is set to be constructed here, specifically at Simpang 4, Kampung Sawang.

According to the Minister of Entrepreneurship Development and Cooperatives Datuk Ewon Benedick, the project, undertaken by the Sungai Kapit Cooperative Berhad (KSKB), will be the second PCS fuel station in Sarawak.

The first is located in the Bau-Lundu area operated by Koperasi Permodelan SALCRA Sarawak Berhad.

“What’s even more commendable is that this cooperative has responded to my call to implement the Portable Container System (PCS) fuel station.

“I hope that with the opening of this station, it will not only increase the cooperative’s income but also benefit the local community, especially rural residents, in obtaining supplies of petrol and diesel for their daily economic activities,” he said during a site visit and groundbreaking ceremony for the project recently.

Ewon added that his ministry, through the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM), is also committed to providing continious support in developing the cooperative economy through the Revolving Capital Fund with a funding limit of up to RM30 million and a funding period of up to 25 years.
