KAPIT: The people in the state are called upon to remain united to achieve the goal of an advanced state by 2030.

Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu said that in order to achieve this, the people must take steps to reach that objective.

“If we only observe without working, our aspirations will not be achieved.

“In the past five years, there have been many changes in Kapit area, such as the existence of roads and the progress of other infrastructure,” he was quoted as saying in a UKAS news report.

Rentap said this in his speech at the Sarawak Kembara Merdeka Convoy and Digital Exhibition in conjunction with Sarawak 60 Years of Independence, Kapit Divisional level at Rumah Jarop Nanga Sepadi, Katibas, recently.

Meanwhile, he expressed gratitude to the Royal Malaysia Police, the Road Transport Department (RTD), the Ministry of Health (MoH) and all parties involved in assisting this convoy.

“This work cannot be achieved without the cooperation of all of you.

“This is evidence that if we are ‘Segulai Sejalai’ (moving forward together) and collaborate in all matters, we will certainly succeed,” he stated.

Also present were Katibas assemblyman Lidam Assan, political secretaries to the Premier, Mourice Giri and Thomas Romeo Christopher and others.
