Sarawak’s Covid-19 cases go up on Friday

KUCHING: Sarawak’s Covid-19 cases on Friday (March 4) escalated from 1,206 on Thursday (March 3) to 1,333 – 1,327 of which are under categories 1 and 2.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) reported that of the other six cases, two had lung infections while four required the use of a ventilator.

“Kuching tops the list with 548 cases, followed by Miri with 198 cases and Sibu with 184 cases,” it said in its daily update.

One new fatality registered was a 35-year-old woman from Limbang.

“No new cluster was reported. The Ministry of Health issued compounds to 12 individuals for failure to scan the MySejahtera app before entering a premises.”

In addition, there are 100 new persons under surveillance, with 273 of them currently quarantined at designated hotels.
