KUCHING:  Sarawak’s Pride has achieved its target of 1,000 short stories. The organisers received a total of 1,007 stories when
submission closed on June 30.

Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak (YPS) chief executive Datuk Aloysius J Dris expressed his thanks and appreciation to all those who had shared their short stories on unity. The project is a collective attempt to achieve the record of “Most Number of Unity Short Stories”.

“The attempt is made possible with the support from government agencies and departments, the media and press community, associations, groups, social media influencers, young people from local and abroad, and many more for helping to promote the pride of Sarawak to members of the public,” he said.

The organisers will now work on to screen the stories to fit the criteria set by the Malaysian Book of Records and also to select the best stories for the top prizes.

Aloysius said the top prizes would be awarded to the top three best stories overall and three best stories from every division in Sarawak.

Further updates on the project will be available on the event pages on Facebook and Instagram (#swkpride).  The organisers may be contacted via WhatsApp at  013-6718063 or phone call at 082-415484.
