Sarawak serves as a shining example of unity within diversity, embodying the essence of ‘Segulai Sejalai’ ・a concept rooted in togetherness.

Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Rosey Yunus expressed her pride as Sarawak gains recognition, not just within Malaysia but also on a global scale, for its commitment to unity.

“When we talk about unity in Sarawak, it underscores the spirit of tolerance among the diverse communities that have coexisted for decades.

“I am confident that this spirit of tolerance and togetherness will continue to underpin community development in this state, serving as a foundation for contemporary governance and ensuring that this legacy of unity is perpetuated for future generations,” she remarked.

She shared these sentiments while commemorating the KMJG convoy’s stopover at the Miri Islamic Complex on today (Aug 10).

Furthermore, she emphasised the significance of the KMJG programme in fostering an even greater sense of patriotism and nationalism, particularly among the populace of Miri District.

Rosey also extended a call to the public, urging them to proudly raise the Jalur Gemilang flag in harmony with the month of independence.

“Let us showcase the spirit of unity that Sarawak’s people uphold in support of national sovereignty throughout the National Month by hoisting the Jalur Gemilang flag at every government, private, or personal establishment, in villages, longhouses, and even on vehicles.

“In light of this, I hope that the Miri district community will wholeheartedly welcome and support the KMJG convoy, which aims to convey the message of patriotism and national spirit to Malaysia.”

This edition of the KMJG convoy features seven vehicles that embarked on their journey from Kuching on Aug 8 and will continue exploring every corner of the state until reaching Lawas on Aug 13.

Interestingly, the convoy team will cross the Sarawak border to Sipitang, where they will join together with the KMJG team from the Sabah Information Department (JaPen).
