School hall upgrading fund receives state govt’s nod

DARO: The state government has approved RM150,000 to upgrade the SK Nangar hall here.

Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad said the allocation comes under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) for the year 2023.

The project to upgrade the hall will be completed in four months.

“Through this provision, it will ensure that the upgrade works can be carried out smoothly,” he was quoted as saying in a news report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS).

He was officiating at the Khatamal Al-Quran Recitation and Outstanding Student Awards Session 2022/2023 of SK Nangar, Daro yesterday (Feb 15).

Meanwhile, Safiee asserted that the Sarawak government is determined and committed to upgrading dilapidated schools even though the jurisdiction of education is under the authority of Putrajaya.

He said the state government also provides various educational assistance from primary school to university levels.

At the same ceremony, he also announced a donation of RM8,000 to the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of SK Nangar.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon, Safiee inaugurated the Year 6 graduation ceremony of SK Ulu Daro.

He was present to hand over the upgrading project of SK Ulu Daro Hall site to the contractor from the Public Works Department (JKR) Matu Daro, the RTP project’s implementing agency.
