School’s new projects launched

SRI AMAN: Community Wellbeing Assistant Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis declared open SK Batu Lintang’s new infrastructure projects worth RM556,000 recently.

The infrastructure projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) were a pedestrian walkway roof worth RM106,000, an extension awning worth RM250,000 and a paved parking lot worth RM200,000.

Harden launched the infrastructure in conjunction with “Majlis Merarau Bersama Pemimpin” (event with leader) at Dewan Masyarakat Baru Lintang in Undop here last Saturday.

The Simanggang assemblyman said, “The construction of the infrastructure projects is the second phase following the construction of a multi-purpose hall which costs RM500,000. Meanwhile, the walkway is for the convenience of teachers and students.

“It is hoped the completion of the infrastructure will improve the teaching and learning spirit in the school.”

The event with leader was organised by the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) under the leadership of organising chairmen, SK Batu Lintang headmaster Leonard Libau Anol and PTA’s chairman cum Tuai Rumah Along Kang.

The event, attended by 500 participants, aimed to raise funds for the PTA activities.

Also present were Pemanca Michael John, SK Batu Lintang vice chairman cum Tuai Rumah Mingging Sigan, ASP (B) Alexander Jawa, SK Ng Klassen headmaster Alfred Kendim, SK Melugu headmaster Louis Aum and SK St Lawrence headmaster Crocker Spiro.
