KUCHING: The Negotiating and Leading Across Boundaries programme introduces a new way of thinking about and conducting negotiation and mediation for its participants.

The programme, which was organised by Sarawak Centre of Performance Excellence (SCOPE) on Sept 6 to 7 at SCOPE’s Seminar Room, was attended by participants from various sectors including the Sarawak civil service, government-link companies and private sector.

According to a statement issued yesterday, the intensive simulation-based course was led by founder cum president of the Centre of Asia Leadership Samuel Kim.

“Participants engaged in theory and practise through a variety of real-life simulation cases, peer coaching and in-depth discussions to develop in them deal-making competence and its practical use that generates values during the programme.

“Participants also discussed the kinds of strategies and competence that they require to be highly effective negotiations and mediations,” it said.

Touching on the upcoming programme, it stated that SCOPE will soon organise a training programme called ‘How to Think Like a Strategist: Developing Foresight for Your Organization’ with Kim.
