SIBU: The Sarawak Central Zone Electrical & Electronic Goods Sales & Services Association (SCZEEGSSA) will celebrate its 22nd anniversary with a dinner at Kingwood Hotel on September 23 at 6.30pm.

The association’s chairlady, Lau Wang Mee, has invited Deputy Minister of Housing, Public Health, and Local Government, Michael Tiang Ming Tee, to be the guest-of-honour at the celebration.

During this dinner, the association will also be presenting study incentive awards to deserving students. These awards are available to members’ children who performed exceptionally well in last year’s public examinations.

Students eligible for the award should have achieved at least 5A for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), 3.0 CGPA for Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM), 3A for Unified Examination Certificate (UEC), or be university graduates.

If you wish to apply for the study incentive award, the deadline for submission is 12 noon on August 18.

In addition to the anniversary celebration, Lau and her committee members visited Rumah Seri Kenangan at KM 22, Jalan Oya on July 24 to make a generous donation.

The donation included five dining tables, 50 plastic chairs, a portable P.A. system with a wireless microphone, and 35 food hampers, all worth a total of RM6,550.

Lau handed over the donation to the principal of Rumah Seri Kenangan, Siti Afiah Samat, during a simple handing-over ceremony. Tiang and Councillor Michelle Law Wan Ling were also present at the ceremony.

Rumah Seri Kenangan is currently home to 32 elderly residents.
