KUCHING: A search and rescue (SAR) operation to find a 19-year-old Indian national  who fell off a ship on Dec 24 was still unsuccessful.

The operation which was temporarily suspended at 5pm yesterday will resume today.

The man was said to have fallen into the river while the ship was berthing at Tanjung Kunyit Port in Sibu.

His colleague, identified only as Kartik, an Indonesian national, later lodged a report

about the incident at the Lanang police station.

Kartik said Vikash was at the stern of the ship where he wanted to vomit when he fell into the river. Yesterday the search eantered its third day.

The team had been combing about 7km radius along the Rejang River from Tanjung Kunyit Port to locate Vikash.
