KUCHING: Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd is developing an Anti-Bribery Management Systems (ABMS) which is scheduled to be certified by early 2024.

Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Datuk Hussain said the initiative is in line with SEDC’s strong stance on integrity and good corporate governance.

Abdul Aziz, who is also the chairman of Sarawak Metro, highlighted the company’s commitment to carry out the effort because “integrity is crucial in fostering the collective growth and prosperity of the company”.

“After SEDC obtained the ABMS certification, we continued to improve governance at our subsidiary companies by rolling out anti-corruption initiatives such as Corruption Risk Assessment (CRA).

“In addition, SEDC also introduced a new integrity award in line with the aspirations of the federal and state governments to enhance and enable good corporate governance at all levels of administration.

“Therefore, award recognition will be granted to entities that show commendable performance in audits,” he said  when officiating at the SEDC Integrity Day 2023 at Riverside Majestic Hotel here today.
