SFWI’s charity run targets over 1,000 participants

KUCHING: Sarawak Federation of Women’s Institute (SFWI) will hold ‘Wonder Women 2017’ run event at Old State Legislative Assembly (DUN), this coming 30 July.

The programme which is to be held in-conjunction with the 55th anniversary of SFWI is also a fundraising event for “SFWI Care and Share”.

There are two categories offered namely for the distance of 5.5 km and 3.5 km.

Public are members encouraged to join the programme as the target is to get more than 1,000 participations. The fee is RM50 per person and RM60 for virtual run and entitled for one Dri-Fit T-Shirt and Medal.

“SFWI Care and Share fund is a yearly charity programme for cancer survivors; the collected fund is also for Pink Ribbon Support Group Sarawak and Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group,

“This is the first largest run event organised by SFWI which is also to promote the unity and harmony among members of our society,” said Minister in Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri during a press conference at SFWI Headquarters, here, yesterday.

The flag off ceremony will be graced by Head of State’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajah Ragad Kurdi Taib and Minister of Welfare, Women and Community Wellbeing, Datuk Hajah Fatimah Abdullah.

The closing date of entry is on this coming 30th of June.
