Shape younger generations so they can contribute to Bau, teachers told

BAU: Parents and teachers were told to shape the younger generation as future leaders, creating a better society as part of the Greater Bau development.

Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep in stressing this said by grooming the young, it would ensure a better future for themselves and the community.

“As Bau is facing a lot of development physically and has changed landscapes, it is also important that the mentality of our people here is in line with the development.

“Hence, education from schools is very important, and teachers including parents need to guide children and shape them so that so that they can contribute something here,” said Henry.

He said this when the officiating at the Bau District Education Office (PPD) Open Day 2022 at Tasik Biru Food Village today.

He also stressed on the empowerment of family institutions and called on parents to be role models at home and be responsible of taking care of their children.

On the programme, the Deputy Transport Minister (Riverine and Marine) said it was the first to be organised and featured the education services offered by the office and the achievement of educators in Bau district.

The programme is held nationwide from Aug 27 to Aug 28 in line with the Ministry of Education’s programme “Bersama Semarakkan Transformasi Pendidikan”.

At the same time, Henry said the impact of globalisation and the COVID-19 pandemic that has forced the country to transform education as well as teaching and learning.

“Therefore, educational transformation requires teachers and students to face various new challenges in order to think more critically, creatively and innovatively.

“Congratulations to all the students and teachers who have obtained stellar achievements for Bau in academics, curriculums and in various competitions,” said the assemblyman.

Henry also called on parents and the local community to cooperate with schools and the district education office in future programmes.

During the function, the assemblyman also pledged an allocation of RM150,000 to be given to schools across the district for activities and programmes next year.
