AWARD-winning singer Shila Amzah has revealed that she recently got engaged with social media influencer Ubai, real name Muhammad Ubaidillah Zulkefli, after previously sparking breakup rumours with her Instagram post. Earlier last week, the singer posted a photo of her and Ubai on social media, and wrote, “Thank you for the five wonderful months. You have been a great friend to me, thank you for showing love to Seth.”
Seth is her son with her ex-husband, Haris Idraki Elias. “I only pray for the best for you; I pray for you to be blessed, and may you get everything you wish for. Thanks for everything. I will always remember this memory,” she added. Ubai also expressed his gratitude on Instagram Story, writing, “Thank you, love.”
The post sparked speculation that the couple had ended their relationship, which prompted the singer to mend her post by writing, “All is well, don’t worry.” In a surprising turn of events, the couple then announced that they were now engaged-to-be-married, with the wedding ceremony slated to be sometime this year.
“The exact date will be announced after the discussions between the two families, but it will depend on my mother’s health condition,” Ubai said.
According to Ubai, his mother, Rohani Jamal, 52, was diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer six months ago, which also resulted in her not being able to walk. He added that the family has had a lot to deal with this year after his younger brother, who was taking care of their mother, died due to a road accident on May 3.
