MIRI: Two siblings were caught red-handed on Saturday with an overloaded single cab Hilux filled with 22 palm fruit bunches (FFB) they stole in Sungai Manong, Niah.

The duo, aged 19 and 26, were detained by the cops at an oil palm estate around 4.30pm.

Prior to the arrest, they were harvesting the fruits belonging to a longhouse chief in Sungai Manong around 3.20pm.

They were spotted harvesting the fruits by villagers who quickly alerted the police.

Both suspects are being detained at Miri Central Police station (CPS), said Miri police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari.

The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code.
