Sibu cops crack down on traffic offenders

SIBU: Police launched a massive operation, codenamed ‘Operasi Ambang’ on Christmas Eve to curb traffic violations here.

Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili the operation was conducted from 10.30 pm to 2 am, targeting various traffic offences

The cops inspected 49 individuals, focusing on violations such as driving without a licence, underage driving, and discrepancies in vehicle displays and documentation.

A total of 51 summonses were issued against offences like failure to display the ‘P’ sign, expired motorcycle licences, modifications to vehicle structure and exhaust, absence of mirrors, and the use of unapproved number plates.

And seven motorcycles were detained for documentation purposes.
