SK Penakup Ulu chosen for Maybank CSR project

MUKAH:  The 10th Maybank Group Global Corporate Responsibility (CR) Day touches  lives worldwide including at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Penakup Ulu here.

The school was selected by the bank for its CR initiative and last Saturday Mukah Branch manager Gilbert Ho Le Haw and his team went to the school for the CR project.

Twenty-one Maybank Mukah branch staff painted one block of the school’s wooden classroom during the half-day CR project.

Maybank,  in a statement, said in conjunction with the 10th Maybank Group Global CR Day, over 20,000 Maybank employees worldwide will be embarking on various initiatives to positively impact the communities they serve and/or the environment in their respective locations between Aug 24 until Oct 30.

This is part of the employees’ year-long efforts in driving sustainable initiatives which are estimated to impact over 14,000 lives across 14 countries.

With the theme “Maybank Cares — Impact, Engage & Empower”, the Maybank Global CR Day is part of the group’s Cahaya Kasih employee volunteerism programme which is carried out in all countries where it operates. Group Chief Human Capital officer Nora Manaf said this year marked the 10th year, further demonstrating the group’s unparalleled commitment in transforming the lives of the people and conserving the environment, in line with its mission of humanising financial services.

The 116 initiatives to be carried out this year showcase the strength of the concerted  social work  by leveraging the network of Maybank employees in influencing the wider public to become responsiblie citizens.
