SEBUYAU: Local communities are benefiting from improved telecommunication services thanks to the full operation of Sarawak Multimedia Authority Rural Telecommunication (SMART) towers in Kampung Sungai Ladong, Kampung Mambai, and Kampung Kesindu.
Utility and Telecommunication Minister, Datuk Julaihi Narawi, said that two more towers in Kampung Skitong and Kampung Seberang Sebuyau will be operational by the third quarter of this year.
According to him, with reliable internet access and advanced telecommunications infrastructure, it opens up opportunities for better education, healthcare, and business.
He said this when attending the Ngabang Gawai 2023 and Ziarah UKAS 2023 event at the Kampung Sungai Kakus Ensika Community Hall yesterday (June 10).
Julaihi also discussed the Sarawak Rural Broadband Network (MySRBN), which provides Wi-Fi services through the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC).
Currently, there are four MySRBN sites serving the Sebuyau constituency, benefiting 443 households. He advised those who have not yet availed themselves of this service can register through the provided MYSRBN link.
