KUCHING: The Sarawak Media Group (SMG) and Television Sarawak (TVS) have achieved their goal of developing the creative content industry in Sarawak.

TVS chief executive officer (CEO) Rizal Zulkapli said that they are committed to nurturing local talents and elevating the industry to national and international standards of excellence.

“This vision is shared not only by us but also by the Sarawakians,” he said.

Zulkapli said this during the Berkat Gawai Get-Together Ceremony, organised by TVS at the Raia Hotel & Convention Centre here on Thursday night (June 15).

As the leading broadcasting platform in Sarawak, TVS has provided ample opportunities for local industry professionals to showcase their work to a wide audience across the country.

“Through TVS, the industry has gained a broader platform and opportunities to engage TV viewers and social media followers. The works showcased on TVS have gained recognition and popularity among viewers and our social media followers,” Zulkapli said.

He hoped for continued support from both SMG and TVS in championing the industry by offering necessary platforms and support for local talents.

Furthermore, Zulkapli said that TVS would continue producing programs and live broadcasts to commemorate important celebrations for the Sarawak community.

These include the Sarawak Merdeka Convoy Expedition, the 60th Anniversary of Sarawak Merdeka, and Malaysia Day.
