LUNDU: Police here confirmed that the road leading to Kampung Siru Dayak has been cut off following a soil erosion on Wednesday night (Jan 25).

Lundu police chief DSP Damataries Lautin said the erosion is believed to have happened as a result of continuous heavy downpour since 4 pm.

However, no untoward incident was reported.

“The situation has been reported to the Lundu Public Works Department for immediate action.

“For the time being, the road is closed and the villagers in Kampung Siru Dayak could use Jalan Utama Pan Borneo or Jalan Kampung Pueh as an alternative,” he said in a statement.

Damataries added that the road leading to Kampung Sebat Melayu and Kampung Sebat Dayak, was also made impassable to vehicles.

The only alternative route for the villagers is the Jalan Utama Pan Borneo.
