OYA: The Solidarity Park here symbolises an integration of different generations, ethnic groups, and strengthens unity within the community.

The handover of the completed landscaping project for the park was witnessed by Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.

The RM300,000 project is part of the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for Dalat and includes amenities such as gazebos, a stage, fencing, and landscaping.

“The concept of this solidarity park is to create a place where community members from various ethnic backgrounds in Oya, particularly the two largest communities, the Melanau and Chinese, can come together and interact for the purpose of unity.

“In terms of the elements incorporated into this park, there are Melanau-style gazebos and gazebos with Chinese elements.

“It involves activities related to health, unity, and the local economy. Each park, recreational area, or facility officially selects the Kuala Tengah Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) to manage and maintain the Oya Solidarity Park,” said Fatimah.
