KUCHING: In conjunction with the World Red Cross Day, a RIMUP programme of racial integration, ‘Link Marching Camp 2018’ was held at SJK Chung Hua No 5 last Tuesday 1 May by Malaysian Red Crescent Stampin District SJK Chung Hua No 5 and SMK Bandar Kuching No 1.

The camp started at 7.30am and ended 5pm. Its objective was to foster better discipline, unity, cooperation and team work among the Red Crescent link members and to provide opportunities for them to participate in social and cultural interchange. This activity also further developed youth members’ management, control and leadership. Marching is one of the most important skill for a Red Crescent member as it trains their group discipline, instil a sense of belonging as well as responsibilities in their duties.

A total of 90 members from various schools participated in this camp. The participating schools were SJK Chung Hua No 3, SJK Chung Hua No 5, SK Kenyalang, SK Ong Tiaw Swee, Lodge Primary School, SJK St Paul and SK Laksamana.
