MIRI: Early intervention in children with disabilities is crucial for their long-term prognosis.

Women Childhood and Community Well-being Development Minister, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said they could then receive the necessary intervention to help them reach their full potential.

This will ensure they have the best possible outcomes in life, she said after launching the Miri Wishesland’s Boccia Hall in Piasau here, Sunday.

She pointed out that early intervention programmes also play a critical role in supporting families and providing them with the resources and tools they need to help their child succeed.

“Early intervention plays a crucial role in helping children with special needs to successfully navigate their way through school.

“By identifying and addressing developmental delays or disabilities at a young age, educators and parents can provide the necessary support and resources to ensure that these children are able to thrive in a school setting.”

Fatimah said with the right interventions in place, children with special needs can develop the skills and confidence needed to actively participate in classroom activities and social interactions.
