MIRI: Minister-in-charge of Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC) Datuk Lee Kim Shin conducted a spot check on shopping malls and supermarkets in Riam and Taman Tunku.

This is to ensure that they are complying with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set up to combat the spread of Covid-19.

During the visit on Sunday (May 23), Lee was accompanied by Miri City mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang, Acting Miri Resident Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf and Miri District deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol.

So far, a total of 14 shopping malls and supermarkets have been inspected by MDDMC.

MDDMC has again reminded the public to remain vigilant and always adhere to the Covid-19 SOPs.

Lee also appealed to the public to take their queue numbers before entering shopping malls and supermarkets.

“And as for retails shop owners they must sanitise the queue cards each time a customer returns it,” he said.

Lee also reminded that during the period, dine-in is not allowed at eateries.
