ENGKILILI: The state government has approved an allocation of RM8 million for various development projects in the Engkilili area.

In stating this, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said that the funds have been allocated to Engkilili assemblyman, Dr Johnichal Rayong Ngipa.

“I am thankful to the Sarawak government, especially the Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for approving the government grant of RM8 million for the development of the Engkilili area,” he said.

He said this during his speech at the Engkilili Constituency Pre-Gawai Dayak 2024 programme at Rumah Jack Braoh, Pais Skrang, recently.

Meanwhile, Tiong was excited to see a large turnout of Engkilili folk from various races and religions at the event.

He said that the large attendance indicated that the Pre-Gawai programme has successfully fostered camaraderie regardless of race and religion.

“I emphasise that such unity should always be practiced and maintained for the sake of the nation’s stability and harmony,” he added.
