State records 15 deaths from Oct 15 to Oct 22

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 15 Covid-19 deaths from Oct 15 to Oct 22.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily Covid-19 update statement today (Oct 23), said most of the victims had comorbidities.

Of the total deaths recorded, four were brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

The death reported on Oct 15 involved a 64-year-old man from Miri. Classified as a BID case, his body was brought to the Marudi Hospital.

On Oct 16, there was another BID case involving a 37-year-old man from Sibu whose body was brought to the Sibu Hospital. The man had no known medical history.

The third BID case reported on Oct 17 involved a 55-year-old man from Samarahan whose body was brought to the Sarawak Heart Centre.

The last BID case, reported on Oct 18, involved a 57-year-old man from Sibu whose body was brought to the Sibu Hospital.

Meanwhile, the other two deaths reported on Oct 17 involved two women aged 95 and 38 from Sibu. Both passed away at the Sibu Hospital.

A death reported on Oct 18 involved a 68-year-old man from Sibu who passed away at the Sibu Hospital.

On Oct 19, a 87-year-old woman from Sibu passed away at the Sibu Hospital.

Meanwhile, five deaths were reported on Oct 21.Those who died were a woman aged 68 from Samarahan,  a man aged 87 from Samarahan,  a man aged 86 from Samarahan, a man aged 75 from Kapit and a woman aged 89 from Sarikei. The victims   passed away at the respective hospitals in the divisions.

Two more deaths were also reported on Oct 22; one was that of a 64-year-old man from Betong who passed away at the Sarawak General Hospital while the other was  a 45-year-old man from Miri who passed away at the Miri Hospital.
