KUCHING: The lesser the corruption, the more developed the state will be, said Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip.

“The government has taken the effort to reduce corruption in our country and the people should also play their role in reducing corruption.
“The people should also cooperate and assist the ministry by lodging reports or inform the relevant authorities about corruption at their workplaces or anywhere,” he told reporters after the launch of “Executive Talk of Integrity and Governance” here at Imperial Hotel yesterday.

Talib also stressed that even the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg had signed the corruption-free pledge when he entered office.

“This shows that the state of Sarawak is strict on corruption.” He urged the people to observe the development in other countries such as Hong Kong and Singapore.

“They are successful because of their development with few corruption cases. I am sure that we can also be a successful country if the people give their full cooperation,” he pointed out.
