KUCHING: Stephanie Johnny, an Iban artist, has clarified that she will not be participating in the cultural event called Bratak and Bipajak Gawai Bisegu 2023, scheduled for June 3.

In a message to her supporters and fans, she stated she would not be performing at the event as reported earlier.

“I wish to make it clear that there is some misinformation, and that I will not be performing at the Bratak and Bipajak Gawai Bisegu 2023,” she said in a statement.

Stephanie further mentioned she would not be engaging in any stage performances during this Gawai festival, and she would notify her fans regarding future performances.

Meanwhile, the Bratak and Bipajak Gawai Bisegu 2023 is organised by Persatuan Segu Bunuk Penrissen (PSBP) in collaboration with the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Segu Bunuk.

The inaugural event aims to promote the unique traditions of the Bisegu community.

Renowned Bidayuh artists, including Rozzie Mila, Dino, Ceasar, and Stephanie Uok, will also be performing at the Kampung Segu Bunuk longhouse on June 3.

Additionally, the event will include the announcement of winners for the best-dressed male and best-dressed female as well as exciting prizes for lucky draw winners.
