MIRI: Stewart Juhes showed a powerful performance against the Brunei Darussalam and Sabah top riders during the Motocross of Borneo (MXoB) 2017 Round 2, here, on May 20 to 21.

Stewart dominated both main events – MX1 and MX2 – at Miri Motocross Track, Permyjaya compared his previous round race performances at Serikin Motocross Track, in Bau last April.

In the MX1 category, superb  Stewart finished the race ahead of Joseph Woon of Sabah and Mohd Shahnizam of Brunei Darussalam to claim the title.

Stewart also dominated the MX2 category by winning the race in front of Muhamad Shazwan of Miri and Bruneian rider Mohamad Shahnizam who were in second and third respectively.

With the double win, the Region 1 Motocross Club Kuching rider, has now collected a total of 86 points.

Meanwhile, Haji Jamil Karim emerged champion of the MX Veteran category. Second and third placing respectively were both Sabahan riders Joseph Woon and Sebastian Blaoh.

Support race category – the KBS MX CUP-CKD Open – saw Stewarts’ teammate Yeo Sun Heng of Kuching won the event as Noorudey Lamiah of Brunei Darussalam finished second and Wedly Yusuf of Sabah in third.

Mohamad Taha of Miri led Sabahan Jusrie Sahidin and Miri’s Hasrie Sarihat in the KBS MX CUP–Cubcross Open.

Mirian riders meanwhile dominated the KBS MX CUP category. Paw Kiew Siang finished in the first place followed by Muhamad Shazwan and Mohd Nur Shahrizad who were in second and third placing respectively.

In the MX Novice Sarawak Close, Gibles Thomas of Kuching emerged champion as second and third placing respectively were Riccardo Nibis of Kuching and Mirian rider Zakaria Mat.

The Motocross of Borneo 2017 was organised by Sarawak Automotive Racing Sports Association (SARSA) with the support from the Ministry of Youth Sports & Solidarity Sarawak, Department of Youth & Sport Sarawak and other local government agencies.

The event was sanctioned by Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM).

The closing ceremony was attended by Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Datuk Lee Kim Shin who later gave away the prizes to the winners.
