KAPIT: A storage room at SMK Kapit No. 2 teachers quarters in Jalan Bleteh here caught fire on Monday (Oct 31).
The blaze occurred on the second floor at around 4.40pm and firefighters from the Kapit station were dispatched to the location.
The team confirmed that a room, which had been turned into a store, suffered 10 per cent damage.
It was reported that the tenants tried to put out the flames using two fire extinguishers. However, the fire spread through the room quickly.
Firefighters brought the flames under control in less than 10 minutes and returned to their station at 5.20pm.
