KUCHING: Kuching Bodhi Counselling Centre will be launching a suicide prevention education exhibition at Vivacity Megamall on Oct 8 to 9.

The centre stated that the education exhibition is being held in response to the World Health Organisation (WHO) and International Association for Suicide Prevention’s call for the 2022 theme of ‘Creating Hope Through Action’.

It said the education exhibition will not only educate on suicide prevention information the public with easy-to-understand posters but will also host several interactive psychotherapy activities such as drum circles, stress relief yoga, let’s talk and free hugs.

“In addition to the activities, the organisers have also invited major mental health groups and units in Kuching to come and share their mental health counselling services,” it said in a statement yesterday.

The centre said the education exhibition is fully supported by Sarawak Timber Association (STA) which sponsors the expenses to enable the event to be implemented smoothly.

“We would like to thank STA for their support and welcome the public to come and learn about suicide prevention knowledge,” it added.
