KUCHING: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Youth Central Chief Michael Tiang vehemently condemns the recent sex scandal video clips allegedly involving a Federal minister.

He said he was shocked that Malaysian politics has come to such a low level and that such tactics were being used to attack a person’s dignity and reputation.

“It is shocking indeed that Malaysian politics has come to such a low level as to viral sex video clips through social media in order to politically ‘kill’ off a person and, in our present case, even a senior federal minister is not immune to such devilish acts.

“What is more scary and shocking is that, if a federal minister is not spared from such sordid news, worse could happen to us, the ordinary people? What will happen when copy-cats start doing it to damage another person’s reputation through such kind of video clip,” he added.

Tiang pointed out that whether the video clip is genuine or not, the person implicated in it has no chance to defend himself at all. If it were not true, his reputation has been damaged beyond repair. Worse still is the hurt felt by his family members.

“I hope that as concerned citizens, we should delete such video clips in our groups and not to ‘help’ the sick person gain mileage by sharing it,” he said.

Calling to all to keep a sane mind over this sort of scandal, Tiang believed that Malaysia is again going to be mocked and laughed by the rest of the world. While there are more pressing issues at hand, he stated, with economy not doing well and people feeling the pinch, we should not look at this as a distraction or entertainment.

He worries that with the State election coming, some copy-cat may follow such tactic to destroy another person’s character.

“I hoped that such ‘sickness’ will not spread to us Sarawakians. This is gutter politics and we should stay away from it,” he advised.

“In the coming Sarawak election, I urge our fellow Sarawakians that we all should focus in defending Sarawak’s rights and its sovereignty without being swindled, distracted or compromised by all kinds of filthy and malicious political propaganda coming from the Peninsula. I urged us loving Sarawakians not to viral the video clips anymore. Enough is enough,” he stated.
