KUCHING: Pujut branch and Krokop sub-branch of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) have put up a new signboard that incorporates the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) symbol.

Miri mayor Adam Yii said the unveiling of the signboards signified that “we are part of the new political group called GPS.”

GPS consists of four component parties namely Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu, SUPP, Parti Rakyat Sarawak and Parti Demokratik Progresif.

“We are all local Sarawakian parties and our political objectives are to regain our autonomy as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963, to uplift the living standards of our fellow Sarawakians, to ensure quality education for our future generations, among other objectives,” Yii said here yesterday.

“We are now locating the offices of Pujut SUPP and Krokop SUPP sub-branch at one location. This is to improve the quality and efficiency of our offices and to better utilise our available resources.

“We are also using technology to improve our services to the people in Pujut and Krokop by way of a mobile number. The number is 019-8863819.

“The public can either call, email, message, WhatsApp, WeChat, Instagram, with photos if necessary, regarding any issue. The public can also make appointments to meet our Pujut and Krokop leaders to discuss any issue,” Yii, who is also Pujut SUPP chairman, said here yesterday.

He said Pujut and Krokop were embarking on a new journey and “I’m confident we can do better together.”

“I’m happy to share that SUPP is still relevant and supported by our fellow Sarawakians in our political struggle to regain autonomy, and to uplift the welfare of our fellow Sarawakians.

“Just yesterday, we received two new membership applications from two young brothers. They came to our office on their own. Here, I encourage and welcome the public to join us in our journey,” he added.

He also urged the public here to embark on more green initiatives and to minimise the usage of plastic.
