SARIKEI: Sarawak Commercial Crime Head, Supt Mustapha Kamal said the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK), Sarikei arrested a woman who has committed 15 cases of fraudulent tour travel packages under Section 420 of the Penal Code.

He said Lenny Valerie Gundu Tangai, 37, committed the offences between March 2017 and June 2018, involving a sum of RM215, 900.

The accused was arrested in Kota Kinabalu on December 6.

Yesterday the charge against the accused was read out before the Assistant Court Registrar of Sarikei, Prouline Aging.

The accused will be remanded until December 21 for further mention in Sarikei Magistrate’s Court.

She was alleged to be involved in 10 cases plus one case in Sibu and one case in Padawan and got herself acquainted with victims in Sarikei and Miri.

The total loss in this case is approximately RM448,200.
