KUCHING: Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus has launched the English Enhancement Programme (EEP) for the second year. Sponsored by Yayasan Sarawak, EEP helps students improve their English language skills.

Students who have completed their secondary school education can enrol in the four-week programme.

“The four-week programme is popular for its impact on a student’s academic journey,” the university said in a statement today.

For foundation year IT/multimedia student Victoria Paloma Victor Palau, the programme activities were engaging.

Mathew says EEP has helped improve his English and social skills.

“We learned to think outside the box and to do things we would not do on our own,” she said.

And Gerald Jong attributed the continued success of his first year of university to EEP. “It helped me settled into university life, make new friends and new experiences.”

He said without the programme, his first year would have been even tougher.

Mathew Telajan Sait encouraged fellow students to enrol for EEP.

“The programme has helped with my social skills and English language acquisition. I have also made new friends and gained many new experiences,” he said.

“EEP is in line with our vision for skilled human capital,” he said.

Students enrolled for the EEP programme benefit from zero tuition fees and a one-off relocation allowance. Those who are from outside Kuching will receive free on-campus accommodation.

Students will also have access to the latest learning and teaching facilities.
