KUCHING: The Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus open day event on the 26 March until April 2 has many interesting activities lined, including the introduction of three new programmes.

The university in a press release announced that the three new programmes are Diploma of Accountancy, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Software and Bachelor of Quantity Surveying.

“Those who are ready to take the next step in their education will have the opportunity to meet directly with Swinburne Sarawak’s academic staff from the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science; Faculty of Business, Design and Arts; and School of Foundation Studies.

“They can discover the wide range of courses offered by the university,” it said.

Education counsellors will be present to provide information on courses, financial aid and scholarships during the open day event.

The press release also said numerous scholarships were available for foundation, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The scholarships are aimed at easing the financial burden of students and their families.

“For instance, top-performing students who enrol in an undergraduate programme at Swinburne Sarawak could be awarded the Pro-Chancellor Excellence Full Scholarship, which provides a 100 per cent fee waiver,” it said.

Also, present to provide financial assistance during the two-day event will be counsellors from Yayasan Sarawak.

Both open day events will be held from 10 am to 4 pm at Swinburne Sarawak campus along Jalan Simpang Tiga.

It is targeted at SPM, STPM, O-Level, A-Level and UEC school leavers seeking an affordable Australian tertiary education closer to home

Moreover, the university will accept on-the-spot applications and provide same-day offer letters during both open day events for those who meet the entry criteria.

“Students are advised to bring along relevant original documents for on-the-spot application purposes,” it said.

The main highlight of the open day is the tour that will allow students view the highly anticipated refurbishments being made to enhance campus life, and in addition, there will be a sharing session on April 2 where students can learn more about the various courses
