KUCHING: The road bully who was recently viralled for riding his motorcycle recklessly and provoked other road users along Jalan Tabuan Tranquility last week, was finally arrested by police on Monday (Feb 27).

Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the arrest was made by a team led by Insp Ngang Kalimpot after acting on a public tip-off.

He added that the team apprehended the 43-year-old suspect around 10 pm at a house in Kampung Beradek Ulu.

“Background checks found that the suspect had four previous criminal records related to armed robberies.

“The suspect also tested positive for drugs during the arrest,” he said.

Ahsmon stated that the suspect has been remanded for three days to facilitate investigations under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving or riding.

The incident which took place around 3.10 pm on Sunday (Feb 25), went viral after a 2.59-minute video clip was uploaded to Facebook.

In the clip, a man was riding his motorcycle with a registration plate QAB649B. The rider was not wearing a helmet and riding in a reckless and dangerous manner.
