Biker killed after vehicle crashes into lamp post

BINTULU: A 26-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle went out of control and crashed into a lamp post at Jalan Pantai Tanjung Batu on Thursday (April 1). Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the incident happened around 6.20pm when the victim was said to be heading to Bintulu town. “Investigations found that the victim, Jelani Ngelingkung, 26, was believed to be speeding and his motorcycle went out of control and crashed into the lamp post. “The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Bintulu Hospital,” he said. The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
