BINTULU: In a thrilling two-day tournament, Dynneva Joyce Donni from Kota Kinabalu Golf Club emerged as the overall champion of the Girls’ Junior category at the 2023 Bintulu Golf Club Junior Invitational Golf Tournament. The talented young golfer displayed her skill and poise on the course, recording a total of 173 strokes to claim the cash prize and trophy.

Meanwhile, in the Boys’ Junior category, Koo Zheng Xi from Miri Golf Club put on a masterclass of golfing prowess, successfully making 158 strokes to clinch the title and the accompanying cash prize and trophy.

The competition, which featured 73 participants from nine different clubs, was held at the Bintulu Golf Club from February 28 to March 1. The players representing Bintulu Golf Club, Sarawak Golf Club, Miri Golf Club, Sibu Golf Club, Sutera Harbour Golf and Country Club, Kota Kinabalu Golf Club, Sabah Golf and Country Club, Kudat Golf Club, and Keningau Golf and Country Club battled it out on the course in pursuit of victory.

Present at the event were Deputy President of the Sarawak Golf Association, Anthony Tan, Captain of Bintulu Golf Club Datuk Mohammad Medan Abdullah, and the Honorary Secretary of Bintulu Golf Club, among others.

The prizes were presented by Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming, who hailed the competitors for their excellent performance and congratulated the winners for their well-deserved victories.

The Bintulu Golf Club Junior Invitational Golf Tournament proved to be a resounding success, showcasing the immense talent and potential of young golfers from across the region. With such impressive performances on display, it’s clear that the future of golf in Malaysia is in safe hands.
