Tan Kai attends special dinner

KUCHING: Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Tan Kai attended a special dinner entitled “Majlis Jalinan Kasih” organised by State Information Department and held at a local hotel here on Saturday.

Tan Kai represented the Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian at the event.

In his short speech, the Political Secretary said peace and harmony must be preserved for the benefit of the future generations.

“Sarawak is going in the right direction with the setting up of its own Education Ministry to help the federal government, with the objective of improving the mastery of English language in the state,” he added.

“Apart from that, the state government also has bought back Bakun Dam   from the federal government and set up its own financing institutions such as the Development Bank of Sarawak, and many others,” he said.

Also present was the Sarawak Information Department Director, Abang Sardon Abang Hashim.
