MIRI: A tax seminar jointly organised by the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Pujut Youth and JCI Riam, attracted a large number of young participants here.
The event aimed to introduce young people to the basics of filing taxes and the importance of doing so, and featured a veteran speaker, Henry Wong, who has over ten years of experience in auditing and accounting.
In the seminar, Wong gave a detailed overview of the basic concepts, the importance of taxation, and how to calculate personal income tax, which includes the tax rebate, an initiative aimed at alleviating the tax burden of the B40/M40 population.
SUPP Pujut Youth chief cum JCI Riam local president, Kelvin Hii, expressed his gratitude to the speaker for taking the time to share his knowledge.
Hii also expressed his appreciation for the collaboration and mutual support between the two youth organisations and hoped they would continue to organise meaningful events in the future.
