POPSTAR Taylor Swift and long time boyfriend actor Joe Alwyn have called it quits on their relationship.

According to ET, a source revealed that the singer and the “The Favourite” actor have broken up a few weeks ago and that the split was amicable.

A source close to Taylor confirmed the news, saying “Taylor and Joe broke up a few weeks ago. They simply grew apart and plan to remain friends.

“The relationship had just run its course. It’s why Alwyn hasn’t been spotted at any shows,” the source told ET. The couple started dating in 2016, following Swift’s breakup with British actor Tom Hiddleston after a whirlwind romance.

Her relationship with Alwyn was a private one, with neither Alwyn nor Swift wanting to talk about their romance with the media. The actor even contributed to Swift’s album, particularly the tracks “Exile,” “Betty”, “Champagne Problems”, “Coney Island” and

“Evermore” from the two 2020 albums “Folklore” and “Evermore”, as well as “Sweet Nothing” on her latest album “Midnights”. “I’m aware people want to know about that side of things,” said Alwyn in a past interview. “I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people.”

In January, Swift revealed on her Instagram that “Lavender Haze”, a track from her 2022 album “Midnights,” is about Alwyn, saying when you’re in a lavender haze of love, “you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud.”

“Like my relationship for six years, we’ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff and we just ignore it.

This song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff,” she added.

For fans of Swift, known as Swifties, news of the break up means looking for clues that Swift, who is known for dropping hints in much of her music and public appearances, may have hinted at the breakup prior to the recent reports.

One Easter egg quickly materialised — and just in time for Easter, no less.

Some fans of the artiste believe that Swift may have signalled the breakup during a recent performance during her Eras Tour.

During her March 31 concert in Arlington, Texas, Swift swapped her song “Invisible String”, which is believed to be a love letter to Alwyn, with “The 1”, a song about ex-lovers.

Neither Swift nor Alwyn has publicly commented on the reported breakup, and Swift’s representatives did not immediately respond to request for a comment.
