MIRI: Two teenagers died in a fatal collision while riding their motorcycles on the road.

Miri district police had received a report of a fatal collision yesterday which happened at around 6.10pm along Jalan Kuala Baram Bypass.

According to Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, the accident involved two male teenage riders age 16 and 17 years old.

“The incident happened when the 16-year-old teenager was coming out on the main road of Jalan Kuala Baram while the 17-year-old teenager was coming from the main road.

“Further investigation at the scene found that the 16-year-old teenager was losing control of his motorcycle and then collided with the other motorcycle.

“As a result of the collision, both teenagers died at the scene and was confirmed by medical officials from Miri Hospital at 7.10pm,” said Alexson.

He also noted that the damages on both motorcycles were significant at the front part.

Following the police report, the incident is being investigated under Section 41(1) and Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
