KUCHING: Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas) will be hosting a Virtual Demo Day in conjunction with the end of the third batch of Tegas Startup Lab (TSL) accelerator programme.

Tegas in a statement today (Jan 26) said the virtual event scheduled for Saturday (Jan 30) will showcase the start-ups that have participated in the accelerator programme.

It said the top five start-ups will be pitching to potential angel investors, government and funding agencies, policymakers, research and academics as well as ecosystem partners.

“Over the past five months, these start-ups have learned, networked and mentored by top start-ups, seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts in the start-up ecosystem with four out of five start-ups being alumni of the previous Tegas Pre-Accelerator programme,” it added.

There will also be opening and keynote speeches by Tegas chairman, Datuk Len Talif Salleh as well as co-founder and chief executive officer of pitchIN, Sam Shafie.

According to Len Latif, TSL is in line with Sarawak’s government mission for digitalisation.

“Tegas TSL runs in line with the Sarawak government’s mission to increase the number of successful technopreneurs as well promote digital innovation and entrepreneurship in the state.

“The accelerator programme is our investment to produce potential start-ups for the Tegas Digital Village and towards empowering young entrepreneurs in Sarawak to scale globally,” he said.

TSL was introduced in 2018 and it is a five-month early stage acceleration programme founded on the belief of connecting local start-ups with the right mentors, investors and industry experts as the right way to achieve scale and generate explosive growth.

Members of the public may tune in for the live streaming on Tegas Digital Innovation Hub official Facebook page on Jan 30 at 2:30pm.
