Telco tower in Padawan razed by fire

PADAWAN: A fire broke out at a telecommunications tower in Padawan Lorong 1A, Kampung Paya Mebi, Jalan Landeh, yesterday (July 14).
 
According to the state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the fire affected the cable section situated on the telecommunications tower owned by SACOFA in Bukit Landeh.
 
After receiving an emergency call, a team was promptly despatched to the scene.
 
“Using a 600-foot hose line and a single nozzle water source from the machinery tank, the fire was successfully extinguished.
 
“By 10.33pm, the fire was under control, and the operation was concluded five minutes later,” said the statement.
 
Alongside Bomba, other agencies present at the scene included SACOFA and SESCO.
