LUBOK ANTU: Telecommunication towers that have been established in the constituency must be fully operational with communication network and internet services.

Local Member of Parliament (MP) Roy Angau Gingkoi emphasised the need for the connection line to be operational and completed by the end of 2023.

“It must be clear that it is ready and operational,” he said in a Facebook post on yesterday (March 3).

He said there are 22 telecommunication towers that have been built in the Lubok Antu area, and 37 will be built in upstream areas such as Ulu Lemanak, Ulu Skrang, Ulu Engkari, and Ulu Delok/Batang Ai.

There are some communication towers that are not yet fully operational, he added, and SMA (Sarawak Multimedia Authority) is in charge of them and is actively installing communication equipment.

Earlier, Roy had a meeting with Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) on the progress update of the National Digital Network (JENDELA) initiative in Lubok Antu.
